Five Ways To make Sure You Get The Perfect Shot On Your Smartphone

This is a collaborative post.

The cameras on today’s smartphones have dramatically improved, however, you need to know a little about how to get the perfect shot if you are going to make the most out of this technology. The human eye also plays a big role. So, when you’re composing your next shot whether it’s while you are travelling or to capture family moments, bear these tips in mind:

Choose A Subject

Rather than taking a wide photo of a group of people at a gathering where the room is the subject, take some close-ups of people enjoying themselves. Maybe they’re laughing, singing, smiling, as a rule of thumb taking close-ups is much better, and captures your audience more.

Research Your Equipment

With the technology that goes into the cameras on your smartphone nowadays, comes a fair amount of options for ways to use the camera to get the perfect shot. It’s definitely best if you research your phone’s camera so you are able to get the most out of it. Go Further Than Eye Level

Be willing to move around when trying to get the right shot. Whether you stand above your subject, crouch down, or make use of a reflection it all provides a fresh perspective. This works great when taking photos of animals in nature. Rather than standing to take the photo, think about getting down their level and capturing the surrounding from their view. This can also work well when you are taking photos of your children.

Consider The Background Of Your Shot

Yes, it is important for you to have a clear and focus shot of your subject, but the background can help to enhance your subject, and put them in context. For example, you are taking a shot of a wild animal in its natural habitat and you capture some great images, however, when you look back at them you realise that it doesn’t really place them as it the pictures could have been taken at the local zoo.

Lighting Is Important

The lighting in your shots is going to be affected by many things. Is it night time, sunset, sunrise, the middle of summer, are you indoors, outdoors? You get the picture. You should try to avoid having the sunlight shine directly at the camera, and if you can make sure you choose a camera with a decent night lens. And use the flash, even during the day. It can help to have the flash off at night time, yes night time, as sometimes the light can be a little intense.

As you can see there are many ways you can help yourself to get the perfect shot with the technology of today. Many people now only use their camera on their phone rather than taking another camera, this is how far technology has come. Have fun and experiment. That’s another great benefit of technology these day, we can take as many photos as we like!
